Rider's Comments

Thanks to all the volunteers and people involved with this weekend's trail ride. This was my first biking event and had a great time. Everything was well planned, organized which made it fun. I'll be back for more challenge (and pain) next year!! Thanks again! -T.M. (riding the Orange Cannondale)

Thanks for a great ride & thank God for that great weather. See you soon -M.W.

Thanks for coordinating such a fun event!  The trail was beautiful, the people were interesting and the accommodations at The Comfort Inn were great!  Thanks to you and all the volunteers who made it happen!  We hope to do it again J!  Happy trails, -L.F. & M.W.

I wanted to thank you for the time and effort you put into this year's Tour of the White Pine Trail.  The Tour exceeded my expectations in every way!  I've been on a number of organized rides over the years and this was one of the best-organized of them all.  The route was well-marked, the rest areas had plenty of food and people helping, the group dinner was a blast (probably boosted by me winning those sunglasses!!!), even the weather cooperated. This was my first Tour, but it definitely won't be my last.  Thanks again for helping make it a success!  -G.B.

Thanks to all for your efforts it was a great ride and a great week end. -P.S.

I wanted to thank you and everbody that put on this ride. This was my first organized bike ride, but I have done several 5 to 25 k runs, and have never had any put together as nice as this one!  The support and information leading up to this ride was most helpful. The food was awesome. The directions on the trail were very clear. Most of all everbody that was there was so nice and helpful, I never once felt like a beginner. This was without a doubt the best experience of my summer! Again thanks so much for everything the organizers and volunteers did to make this ride so enjoyable! See you next year -J.Y.

Thank you for not only ensuring that this one of a kind ride continued for it's sixth year but also for making it better than ever. It was fantastic to see almost fifty riders start on Saturday morning. Please forward my appreciation to all of the volunteers who helped make this event possible. See you next year! -T.B.

Be sure to ask Dave,(the SAG driver who gave me a ride home from Cadillac Sat night) about my bike falling off his rack at 75 m.p.h.! Damage is unbelievably minimal. My brothers left Leroy and beat the food (to the lunch stop in Big Rapids) so stopped for a burger in Sand Lake. We all  had a good time and enjoyed a dinner at Hermanns (in Cadillac on Sat night). Thanks for a great weekend. -J.D.

Thank you for a TERRIFIC ride; I had a fantastic time. The event was one of the most well-organized I have ever attended. The volunteers at the stops were great. Thank you to everyone. I'm trying to convince my husband to come with me next year. Thanks again for a fantastic ride. -B.G.

I would like to thank all the volunteers. This was my first organized ride and I was very impressed. The cost for the ride was very reasonable and I am looking forward to doing it again next year. This was only my second time on any of Michigan’s Rails to Trails or Linear Parkways. The first time was from Riverside Park to Rockford and back on the White Pine Trail. That introduction, with a couple of co-workers, made me realize that I could ride 24 miles to work and made the commitment to do the 48+ mile round trip twice a week all summer. That commitment prepared me for the 184 mile White Pine Color Tour.  It was definitely work pedaling to Cadillac, but well worth the effort. Through changes in diet and the addition of cycling, I have been able to reduce my cholesterol and weight, all without medication. The Michigan Rails to Trails initiative opens that possibility. It will be exciting to spend time with our grandchildren exercising and seeing God’s creation via the great resources made available to everybody in the great state of Michigan. Thanks again for the many volunteers, both financially and physically, who have made this great resource available to everyone. -G.R.
